I tried out some of the best AI Text Generators

In recent years, demand for high-quality content has skyrocketed, with the ever-growing criteria of Google’s ranking algorithm being one of the biggest drivers.

Even though it’s still a relatively new technology, artificial intelligence (or “AI”) can currently write articles that are almost as good as anything authored by a person, but there are some limitations.

What is GPT-3 technology?

Machine learning, a subfield of artificial intelligence that produces computer code by feeding computers vast quantities of training data, has been the driving force behind the development of this new language generation software.

GPT-3 is able to discover patterns in human communication by analysing huge archives of human speech. This data is then used to produce written content. An all-in-one sentence-creation tool is what it fundamentally is.

GPT-3 is the most current example of how technology is being used to improve the writing process by human authors, but it requires correct direction in order to generate professional intelligible writing.

After inputting a few keywords, you can effortlessly generate 1000 meaningful words in no time at all.

Should I use an ai writing tool?

Al content generators are still in their infancy. Human editors are still required to make final edits to the article.

Using them, on the other hand, can save you hours of time spent on thinking and structuring your piece. Most articles will only require the tiniest bit of editing once you provide the title of your required content.

Using these technologies is an investment in the future — Al-generated content gets better and better with time.

With many services starting at around $20 per month, they’re well worth your money if you need to generate material for marketing purposes — say email marketing newsletters that nobody wants to write.

Or product decriptions.

Some people are apparently even writing books with AI!

Think of it as your own personal writing assistant that can literally save you hours.

Copywriters can now put their expertise to work more efficiently, resulting in a fivefold increase in output, if not more in some cases.

What is the best AI text generator?

This is a difficult question to answer as there are so many of these ai writers popping up these days, and each have their strengths and weaknesses. They are being improved all the time however.

Here are some of the top contenders:

Jasper

Many people use Jasper, an AI tool that has ammased several thousand 5-star reviews.

It has various templates that can be used to generate content (see image below) and paying a little extra gives you access to their ‘Boss Mode’ which without doubt can produce some incredible results that are completely indistinguishable from human written text.

Jasper has a myriad of options to use for creating text

Once Jasper knows what to right about you can keep generating relevant text by pressing the command button.

Jasper can also plug into Surfer SEO if you have an account, helping you to make the most search engine friendly articles possible. It also has a plethora of different templates for generating high quality content, including paid search ads.

There is also an active Facebook group for Jasper users with lots of sharing of information on different ways to use the technology. You can also get an expert accreditation qualification for those who want to utilise this incredible text generator professionally.

Jasper features

◉ Automatic article writing software
◉ Long-form text editor
◉ Many languages for your outputs!
◉ Plagiarism detection
◉ Surfer SEO integration
◉ Facebook community
◉ Jasper Chat (Similar to ChatGPT)

Writesonic

Writesonic has received over 5000 5-star reviews so going by ratings these guys are well worth looking at, it depends what you want to do.

Wrtitesonic Ad creation options

With Writesonic the system can suggest your headings and have a good quality blog post generated literally in seconds. It has less options than Jasper, but is a little more affordable. The output it created was impressive.

It also has templates for generating high performing PPC (pay per click) adverts including Facebook Ads, Google Adwords and LinkedIn Ads.

Writesonic features

◉ Powerful AI-powered article and blog writer
◉ In just seconds Writesonic can create high-quality marketing material
◉ Chatsonic: Writesonic’s own version of ChatGPT that is up to date!

Quillbot

If you only need AI to rewrite articles into something original then Quillbot is excellent at doing this and has several settings so that you can adjust the tone of the writing produced.

Quillbot has powerful rewriting capabilities

The ‘creative’ option can produce some pretty interesting rewrites, though you’ll need to keep an eye on the final edit and check that the meaning of the text generated is still on point. It’s a damned fine tool however.

It also has options for ‘fluency, formal, simple and expand’. You can also adjust the number of synonyms used, which dictates how accurate the final input will be.

I have personally used it to create dozens of pages of original content, borrowing a paragraph here, rewriting it, then borrowing a paragraph somewhere else and doing the same.

Much of what Quillbot produced came out at a higher standard than I could myself manage, to be quite frank.

Quillbot features

◉ Paraphraser (very powerful)
◉ Grammar checker
◉ Citation generator
◉ Co-Writer
◉ Plagiarism checker
◉ Summarizer
◉ Microsoft Word extension
◉ Browser extension for Chrome

Rytr

Rytr uses its own combination of different language systems to create exceptionally high quality writing. It also works in 30 different languages!

It includes a native copyright infringement checker to ensure the originality of the text and highlight any changes that are needed.

At the last count, I saw 22 different tones for your text to be written in. I asked it to write a paragraph about which AI produces the most realistic language and it came up with this:

“There are many AI writers available in the market. Some of them are free and some of them are paid. The best AI writer for you depends on your needs and budget.

The most popular AI writing tool is QuillBot, which is a free text generator that can be used to generate content for any topic or niche. It has a lot of features that make it stand out from the rest of the competition, such as its ability to produce realistic language and its ability to generate content at scale.”

Pretty impressive. The input it got was: “What is the best ai text generator? How to choose the ai writer for you.”

Interesting that it pointed me to Quillbot. I did ask it for the humorous voice, however!

There is a free option to Rytr, which allows you to test all of its features. You can get a decent article together really quickly by letting it generate the blog headings and then putting them into the blog section generator. I was impressed.

You’ll run out of credits quickly, however. Especially once you realise how fast you can generate articles that require only a very cursory edit.

The ‘saver’ plan is a mere $9 per month! The word count limit is not huge with this option though - I was able to get to through around 20% of my allowance after generating 5 or 6 articles.

This is a super easy to use great value tool though, with some really handy features.

I was able to generate the 600 word article shown above in just a couple of minutes, which I found to be quite mind boggling, and this was after only seconds of using the software for the very first time.

For more AI writing tools see this post on Medium for details on 27 popular ai text generators.

Rytr features

◉ Content generation at the press of a button
◉ Plagiarism check
◉ Grammar check
◉ Form Generator
◉ Story telling mode

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT from Open AI has been taking the world by storm with its human like interactions. You can ask it questions, and it will give you a detailed answer (which is usually correct). But not always.

Chat GPT is basically an upgrade of how we can interact with GPT-3.

Whilst ChatGPT can produce essays (just ask it for 500 words on whatever subject) it is not something that should be used to generate website content straight from the prompt.

Is GPT-4 suitable for content creation?

ChatGPT using GPT-4 (for $20 a month) is very good indeed at writing creative and compelling marketing material (and a lot more) however, messages are currently capped at 20 per hour.

This means that you can hit a limit where you have to wait an hour before carrying on. I hit this recently when creating a 6000 word post.

Jasper and the other tools are incorporating GPT-4 into their offerings, some have already, so if you need a tool that is going to be always on for creating content you might want to consider something other than GPT-4 in its current state.
